All You need is Love

The BORN x Design Junction

Do not stop Creating

Today we want to focus on a small selection of brands that reside in the Canopy; one of the Design Junction's three exhibition grounds. Compared to the Cubitt House, which offers a wide panel of groundbraking contemporary lighting and furniture design, here you will find a completely different vibe. Accessories, Handcraft objects, Innovative Biotope and Technological goods swarm the stands of down to earth creator who are more than happy to share their story.

Zero Studio was created by Joel Parkes, an Artist who trained at Chelsea College of Art as a Public Artist, and instigated his career with 7 years at pioneering Public Arts company, Free Form Arts Trust. Established in Hackney in 1969, to put people at the heart of changing their environment, by working together creatively. Working primarily on the regeneration of East London Joel carried out such projects as the creation of Shoreditch Park, Shepherdess Walk and designing various sculptures and engagement projects for The Shoreditch Trust. Joel specialised in working with young people coming out of prison, devising and comprising design teams for his various public art projects, providing education and employment. In 2016, Lexon marks 25 years of design. A period throughout which it has remained faithful to its founding ethos. So you could say nothing has changed. The excitement of creating something new has remained a constant which, conversely, means nothing has stayed the same. Their passion for new never rests, and continuously drives everything they do. To the point that each season, with every new talented designer encountered and with every fledgling innovation discovered, we sense an opportunity to disrupt preconceptions, again. Lexon creates friendly contemporary objects that brings more fun into your life every day by adding a smart touch of design and useful creativity. In collaboration with designers such as Pauline Deltour, Eugeni Quittlet, Adrian & Jeremy Wright, Mathieu Lehanneur, we are always looking for the better ways to create the objects that will make your life more enjoyable. Pikaplant Jars are plants you never need to water. Each hand-picked specimen is hermetically sealed inside a humid biotope, and continuously recycles the water and air inside. Jars mimic natural high-humidity biotopes. The resilience and adaptivity of plants amazes us. One of the original prototypes has been flourishing happily in its container for twelve months.
